Liu Chunchang is a municipal-level representative inheritor of Longquan Sword Forging Technique, a national intangible cultural heritage in Lishui. He is also a Senior Craft Artist, a Master of Arts and Crafts of Lishui, and the inheritor of the Yong Hao Sword brand.
With more than 30 years of experience, he began his career in sword-making at the age of 18. Through years of dedicated practice, he exercises strict control over every procedure—from material selection and design, to forging, quenching and carving—interpreting the simple yet extraordinary spirit of craftsmanship with relentless pursuit of perfection.
He has actively studied traditional techniques, focusing on the “Caogang Steel Method”, and integrated Japanese steel-cladding with Chinese sandwiched forging technology. He has experimented with various patterns of hundred-refined steel and attempted to restore the styles of ancient swords from past dynasties.
With superb craftsmanship, he has won dozens of gold and silver awards in professional competitions. Remaining true to his original aspiration, he is committed to inheriting the intangible cultural heritage of Longquan Sword and forging high-quality works.
